Greetings!

I am excited to be working at Holy Family School full-time this year!  I was fortunate enough to begin working here last year as a part-time Spanish teacher, a substitute teacher, and I met with small groups to work on critical thinking enrichment.  This year is off to a great start already and I look forward to meeting you!

Just to give you a little information about myself... I moved here last fall after spending the past 5 years in Chicago.  I taught Spanish at an independent, private school in the city. It is much like Holy Family.  Prior to my time in Chicago, I taught for one year in Santa Barbara, California as a 5/6th grade teacher.  I am a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder.  I graduated with a B.A. degree in Sociology and also my Elementary Education Certificate.  In May of 2006, I completed my Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction.

If I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time outside and learning all the new tricks of gardening with our first garden.  We spent the summer traveling to great spots and attending many Cubs games.

I am also a Spanish teacher at Kids-n-Fitness!

I look forward to a successful year with your children!

Thank you for your warm welcome!

Mrs. Sloan
